Terms of Engagement & Legal Disclaimers

Governing principles for professional tax consultancy, statutory advocacy before Pakistani revenue authorities, client responsibilities, and website educational usage.

Professional Governance
Chamber Practice Code • Est. 1996

1. Professional Scope & Representation Mandate

Taxpert operates as an established Pakistani tax consultancy and legal chamber delivering counsel on the Income Tax Ordinance 2001, Sales Tax Act 1990, Federal Excise Act 2005, and provincial sales tax statutes. Formal legal advocacy before field formations of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals), or the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) commences strictly upon the execution of a formal Letter of Engagement and Power of Attorney (Vakalatnama / Authorization).

2. Client Obligation: Factual Accuracy & Genuine Books

Tax consultancy and appellate defense rely strictly upon the veracity, authenticity, and completeness of the financial ledgers, bank statements, sales invoices, and commercial contracts provided by the client. The client warrants that all submitted documentation represents genuine economic activity. Taxpert refuses representation in matters involving fabricated invoicing, counterfeit tax receipts, or willful fraud. Any statutory penalties, fines, or criminal liabilities under Sections 191–199 of the Income Tax Ordinance arising from falsified client records remain solely the legal responsibility of the taxpayer.

3. Non-Guarantee of Administrative or Judicial Outcomes

Tax advisory and appellate litigation are matters of statutory interpretation, administrative discretion, and judicial reasoning. Taxpert provides rigorous, evidence-driven advocacy based on established Pakistani tax law and binding superior court precedents. However, in accordance with the professional code of conduct and Pakistani bar standards, Taxpert makes no guarantee or warranty regarding specific outcomes, tax savings, audit deletions, or favorable judicial judgments.

4. Statutory Deadlines & Client Timeliness

Tax law in Pakistan enforces strict statutory limitations. For example, appeals to CIR (Appeals) must be filed within 30 days of assessment service under Section 127; appeals to ATIR within 60 days under Section 131; monthly sales tax returns by the 18th of each month. Clients must furnish all necessary documents, bank statements, and tax clearances at least five business days prior to any statutory deadline. Taxpert disclaims liability for defaults arising from late document transmission by the taxpayer.

5. Website Educational Content Disclaimer

All information, articles, statutory analyses, tax calculators, rate cards, and FAQ responses published on taxpert.com.pk are provided solely for educational, research, and general informational purposes. They do not constitute personalized professional tax advice, accounting counsel, or a formal legal opinion. Tax laws, statutory rates, and FBR circulars undergo frequent revision. Visitors must not act or refrain from acting on the basis of website content without consulting a qualified tax advocate regarding their specific factual circumstances.

6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Engagement and any professional contracts entered into with Taxpert shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Any legal dispute or controversy arising out of or in connection with chamber engagements shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Karachi, Pakistan.
